Obituary

Mildred Mahaley French Savage-Harris, 84, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday evening March 10, 2015, in Santa Maria, California. She was born August 29, 1930, in Williams, Oklahoma to Marion Jackson (Papa Jack) and Mary Mae Bell (Granny) French.

There will be a viewing at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Thursday March 26, 2015, from 4-8 pm and graveside services at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery on Friday March 27, at 2 pm.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Kenneth Lloyd Harris, son and daughter-in-law Vee and Judy Savage, son Marvin Zmotony and his wife Cathy, granddaughter Sara Rose Savage, sisters Della (Corky) Liggett, Barbara Swafford, Olivia (Pete) Logan, step children Gwyneth DeBiase, Daniel L. Harris, Robert C. Harris, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-eight years Everett Savage, son Michael Zmotony and Sister Bonnie Brislane.

Mildred and Ed and family moved to Lompoc from Taft in 1973. She worked at the Lompoc Hospital for thirty years and was a faithful member of the Lompoc Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where her smiling face was always a blessing. Mildred was a prayer warrior. You could always see her around town in her BIG DIESEL truck that she had to sit on pillows so she could see over the steering wheel.

Mildred met her present husband Ken at Valley Haven Senior Day Care where they married June 7, 2013.

We know Mildred is in a better place, in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mildred's name to Valley Haven Senior Day Care Center, 502 North Third Street, Lompoc, CA 93436.
