Long time Lompoc resident Mildred Malcolm passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Mary Lou Malcolm, in Littlerock, California. She was 86 years old.

Mildred was born May 7, 1920, in Detroit, Michigan, to Selden and Martha Payne. Mildred was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mildred enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, and all who knew her.

Mildred is survived by her sons Ronald Malcolm of Little rock, California; Gary Malcolm of Corona, California; and her daughter, Sandra Morgan of Lompoc, as well as 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death in 1994 by her husband of 57 years, Alexander Malcolm; her sister, Ruth Hatt, who died in 1990, and her parents.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mildred's name to the American Lung Association, 104-A E. Boone Street, Santa Maria, CA 93454. Arrangements are under the direction of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
