Minnie Cecelia Grossi
December 31, 1932 – October 28, 2014

After a lengthy illness, Minnie C. Grossi went peacefully with family by her side. Minnie was born and raised in Lompoc and attended Lompoc schools. She married Willard Grossi on October 24, 1953 and recently celebrated 61 years of marriage.

In 1953 Minnie was crowned Lompoc's last Rodeo Queen for the annual Rodeo and Parade which was renamed the Flower Festival the following year. During her life, Minnie was a dedicated homemaker, but also worked many other jobs outside of the home, including waitressing and helping with the family farming business. She was an avid tennis enthusiast, and loved watching any and all matches. Minnie's favorite pastimes were spending time with family, watching game shows, crocheting, and visiting her favorite gambling spot.

Minnie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Willard Grossi Sr. Her four children: Debbie Sparrow, Willard (Tuffy) Grossi Jr., Linda Guerra, and Donna Rupa (John). Her brother, Junior Silva, and sister, Evelyn Grossi. Her grandchildren: Tammie Sparrow, Ricky Sparrow, Shannon Olson, Ashley Fazio, Bethany Covington, Justin Guerra, Willy Grossi, and Lauren Grossi. Her great-grandchildren: Miranda Sparrow, Zachary Olson, Tyler Olson, Mackenzie Olson, MiaBella Fazio, and Kylie Fazio.

Minnie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Francisca and Julio Silva. Brothers: Frank and Manuel Silva. Sisters: Mary Kaylin, Alice Grossini, and Arlene Hain. Son-in-law, Richard Sparrow.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.

The Viewing and Rosary will both be held this Sunday, November 2nd at La Purisima Catholic Church. The viewing will be from 3-6pm. The Rosary will begin at 6pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 3rd at 10am at La Purisima Catholic Church with burial services immediately after at the Lompoc Cemetery. Minnie's family invites everyone to join them for a Celebration of Life at the La Purisima Parish Hall following the services on Monday.
