Obituary
Monte Lee Burke of Lompoc died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the age of 56.
Monte was born January 2, 1955 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Donald and Ruth Burke. His family moved to Lompoc where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Maple High School with the class of 1973
For many years Monte worked on the offshore oil platforms. Later he was employed as a salesman for a tool and supply company.
Formerly of Golden Valley, Arizona he recently returned to live in Lompoc where he enjoyed reading, playing chess and spending time outdoors.
Monte is survived by his mother Ruth Frye of Portland, Oregon, his children Michael Burke of Chico, Naomi Burke of Chico, Candice Burke of Lompoc and Meghan Fiero of Lompoc, his brothers Tom Cecrle of Portland, Rick Cecrle of Miami, Florida, Mike Burke of Lompoc, Jim O'Connell of Lincoln, Nebraska, his sisters Patricia Burke of Lompoc, Sharyl Lund of Portland and Constance Bliss of Lompoc and numerous nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 1pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment in the Lompoc Cemetery at a later date.
