Nancy Jo Jones, cherished mother, nana, and friend, passed away on April 23, 2017. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on January 17, 1937 to Roy and Anna Mary (Sokol) Morgan and raised in San Bernardino, California. In 1965, Nancy moved to Vandenberg Air Force Base with her then husband, Hoyt Jones. A long-time resident of Lompoc, she had a distinguished 45-year career as a bookkeeper at local realty and property management companies, Martin Marietta, and the YMCA.

Nancy loved all of her family fiercely, second only to her devotion to God and her Catholic faith, and was a passionate advocate for those whom she loved, especially her autistic great-grandson. She was strengthened and supported in her faith by the fellowship she enjoyed as a member of the lay Franciscan community and of the parishes of La Purisima and Queen of Angels.

Nancy is survived by her children Sheryl Jones Deffenderfer (Tom) of McKinleyville, California, Marshall Jones (Terri), and Karen Jones, both of Lompoc; her grandchildren Jason Tatum (Stephanie), and Patricia Webb, both of Kansas; Cara Mendek of Lompoc, Ryan Garner of Ohio, Benjamin Jones and Emily Jones, both of Lompoc; and her great-grandchildren Joseph, Aaron, Jacob, Alexis and Karrah Tatum; Seraphim, Ashley and Sarah Adkinson; Michael Mendek, and Carson Medina. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Wilkinson.

All of Nancy's friends and family are invited to a Rosary Vigil in the chapel at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary on Thursday, May 4th, 6:30 pm, and to attend her funeral Mass on Friday, May 5th, 9:00 am at La Purisima Catholic Church.
