Obituary

On the morning of November 14, 2021, Nancy Garcia Razo (née Terrones) passed away peacefully at the age of 60 in Fresno, California, with her son by her side.

Mrs. Razo was born February 12, 1961, in Lompoc, California, to Porfirio and Carmen Terrones.  One of the youngest of 16 children, Nancy's life was deeply rooted in her family.  She often spoke of her childhood and memories she had of going with her father to the grocery store for her mother and occasionally going to church on Sundays.

Nancy was an incredibly hard and dedicated worker, getting her first job on Vandenberg AFB while still a student at Lompoc Senior High School. After graduating from high school early, she briefly continued her career on Vandenberg AFB.

Through life's challenges, Nancy always made it clear her children were her priority. As a single mother, she worked and provided for her children, always putting their wants and needs before her own. She never missed a Youth Football game or any game during four years of her son's high school football journey. Her love and commitment to her children was unwavering. She prided herself on being a great mother.

For 14 years, Nancy worked for the Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services. She was deeply saddened when she was forced to retire due to health reasons. Her job was a source of happiness. She not only enjoyed what she did and the people she worked with, but it was there she met the man who would be her husband, Guadalupe Razo, whom she jokingly referred to as "Mister".

Nancy and Guadalupe married in 2004 and subsequently relocated to Hanford, California. It was in Hanford that Nancy would spend the rest of her days, caring for her dog, Spunky, and "hinting" at her daughter that she was ready for a grandchild.

In 2016, Nancy became a grandmother to her first and only grandchild, Amelia. She spent the remainder of her days playing with and doting over Amelia.

Nancy is deeply loved and survived by her husband Guadalupe Razo, daughter Sarah Rodriguez (née Armstrong), son Eric Armstrong, and granddaughter Amelia; sisters Antonia Mondragon, Jane Hardeman and Judy Hernandez; brother Porfirio Jr., Carlos and Gabriel Terrones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Porfirio and Carmen Terrones; sisters Augustina Rains and Rosemary Razo; brothers Richard, Manuel, Bernardino, Fernando, Fidel, Joe and Luciano; niece Gina Villalobos who was like a sister to her; and her dog Spunky.

The visitation will be from 5-7pm on Monday, November 22, with the scripture service starting at 6pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.  The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 23, at 10am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
