IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Lee
Suess
October 23, 1929 – July 25, 2014
Nancy Lee Suess, 84, was born in Seattle, WA and resided in Maryland and Virginia most of her life. She died in Lompoc on Friday July 25, 2014. Her career as a secretary spanned 40 years working for the Xerox Corporation, the Pentagon and the Federal Reserve Board. She was also an antique dealer in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 30 years. Her creative and artistic abilities filled the space of her free time and brought her much joy. A seamstress, watercolorist and jewelry maker, she also had special talent in architectural and interior design. Those close to her called her a naturally gifted artist. Her unique sense of humor complimented her quiet and gentle demeanor. She was fond of animals, an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. Her love of the English language led her to become an adult literacy tutor. And with a heart to serve others, she mentored the intellectually and developmentally disabled. She is survived by her twin brother and sister Jack Goudie and Jeanne Bush; her three children Richard Suess, Toni Johnson and Cheryl Swanson; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Henry Suess whom she married on November 17, 1950, her parents Linaria Bernice Hull and Glenn Elgin Goudie and her brother Glenn, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church and Cemetery in Highland, Maryland.
