Funeral services for Nancy M. Collins, age 87, of Lompoc will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church on Friday, October 25th at 1:00pm. Rosary will be held on Thursday, October 24th, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc, Ca.

Mrs. Collins was born on February 19, 1937, the second of seven children to Frank and Gertrude Sullivan of Lancaster, Ohio, where she was raised and educated. She moved to southern California in 1960 where she met and married David S. Collins in 1964. She traversed back and forth from California to Florida with the space programs that her husband worked on. She was a loving and involved homemaker, teacher, and volunteer in her church and communities through most of her life. She and Dave had three beautiful children together, whom she delighted in raising, always celebrating their accomplishments and hosting holiday events. As a family they enjoyed traveling across the United States in their RV to see the National Parks and have many adventures. She loved doing arts and crafts with her daughters and was team mom for her son's many sports teams throughout the years. After the children left the nest she worked as an accounting assistant for Allan Hancock Community College in Santa Maria, retiring in 1997. She was also a wonderful grandmother to her seven grandchildren, always there to attend a baseball game, concert, or theater production. Her love and support were the backbone of the family, and she will be missed greatly by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, David S. Collins, and dear sisters Carol Sullivan and Judy Healy of Ohio. She is survived by her daughters Stella Mendez of Lompoc, Linda Frisbey (husband Dave Frisbey) of Santa Cruz, and a son, Matthew Collins
(wife Angela) of Arroyo Grande, as well as grandchildren, Tony Mendez, of Oregon, David Mendez, and Nichole Mendez-Enright (husband Edward Enright) and their three children-Nancy's great grandchildren: Jackson, Hayden, and Logan Enright- also, grandsons Ben and Garrett Frisbey of Sacramento and Philadelphia, and Dylan and Brendan Collins of Arroyo Grande. She is also survived by four of her six siblings: Sharon Middaugh, Patty Reid, Tim Sullivan, and Bridget Sherrick, all of Lancaster, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
