Nicholas W. Obermire
August 26, 1951 – December 10, 2024

Nicholas Obermire, 73, of Lompoc, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, on December 10, 2024, after a battle with cancer. Nick, the oldest of five children, was born at Lompoc Hospital on August 26, 1951, to Nicholas and Armande Obermire.

Growing up in Lompoc, he attended La Purisima Catholic School and graduated from Lompoc High School in 1969. He went on to own a successful food distribution business for 17 years. In 1971, Nick married his beloved wife, Gia. Over their 53 years of marriage, their family grew with the births of their daughter, Diane (David), grandchildren Paige, Patrick, Marcus, Grace, and great-grandchildren Bailey and Brynnley.

In 1990, Nick retired. Throughout the years, he pursued many hobbies to fill his days. He was always interested in how things worked, constantly seeking new information and knowledge, and was never afraid to try new things. But more than anything, Nick was known for his generosity. He often went above and beyond to show his love and take care of those he treasured most.

The family will hold a private funeral service, and Nick will be laid to rest at Lompoc Cemetery in Lompoc, California.
