Noreen L Pond was born July 23, 1937, in Tipton, OK. She attended schools in Carpinteria & Montecito, graduating from Marymount High School in 1955. She also attended University of Colorado Boulder aspiring to enter the medical field. Noreen chose Accounting as her life's work, opening an Accounting company in Santa Barbara. After retiring from accounting, she & her husband Don owned and operated two businesses, in Buellton and later in Lompoc where they resided. Noreen continued with involvement in the Santa Barbara Rental Property Association, North County, researched her familial lineage to confirm descent from an ancestor achieving American Independence thereby validating entry into DAR, Daughters of the American Republic and 10+ years volunteering for the Lompoc Police Department including fundraising, public awareness programs and providing support whenever needed.

Noreen is survived by three children, Sheila Applegate, Steve Gaboury & Laura Watson as well as 5 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren. Noreen passed peacefully on February 23, 2026, at her home.

Memorial services will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026 @ Events Mission Valley Building, 138 N B St, Lompoc near Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
