Norman A. Erdman passed away Wednesday April 4, 2007 at his residence in Lompoc at the age of 67.
Norman was born to Ambrose and Margaret Suckow Erdman in Tara Township, Minnesota January 10, 1940. He was educated in District 99 in Swift County Minnesota and attended West Central School of Agriculture and the University of Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfield Township, Swift County. Norman served in the U.S. Army Chemical research and development volunteer in the l960's.
Norman was employed for over 25 years with Lockheed-Martin Company and FEC at Vandenberg Air Force Base as well as the Ford Aerospace Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 125, and the Moose Lodge of Lompoc # 1036. He was a collector old cars guns and was a photographer.
Norman is survived by his wife of 29 years, Etta M. Erdman of Lompoc; his Mother, Margaret Erdman of Benson, Minnesota; one step-son, Larry Don Jackson of Oceano; two sisters, Bonita and her husband Gary Hoffman of Great Falls, Montana and Lois and her husband Chuck Brandt of Clontarf, Minnesota; two brothers, Marlow and his wife Pat Erdman, of Willmar, Minnesota and Dennis and his wife Julie Erdman of Benson, Minnesota; a grandson, Jeremy Wayne Cherry and a granddaughter Katie Jo Jackson; three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Ambrose Erdman and two brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 7 at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ at O and Walnut Street in Lompoc, with Mr. Richard Burch officiating. Friends who desire may donate to Hospice or ALS.
