IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norman Lynn
Flint
September 17, 1943 – October 11, 2024
Norman Lynn Flint age 81 of Lompoc, California passed peacefully on October 11, 2024. Beloved husband of Dee Dee Flint (17 years) and Susan Flint (37 years). Loving father of Jason (Brandy) Flint, Nathan (Nikki) Flint, and Mandy (Ronnie) Taylor and stepfather to Adam Welter and Brooke Mathena. Cherished grandfather of Jared, Devon, Wyatt, Ajaden, Dakota, Zoey, Elianna, and Ethan. Loyal brother of Dorothy (Robert) Miller, Penny (Robert) Schmidgall, and the late David Flint, Sharon (Lou) Nostrand, and Ronnie Flint. Favorite uncle, cousin, and friend of so very many.
The Air Force originally brought Norm to the Lompoc Valley in 1963. It was here that a simple dinner invitation from his boss led him to meet and marry the splendid Susan Reynolds (July 2, 1966). After completing his four-year enlistment (1961 – 1965), Norm continued his career on the Vandenberg Airforce Base and in the Lompoc Valley as a civilian working first in logistics and people management at Quintron where he remained 22 years, followed by a Logistics Manager role at InDyne Inc. Norm retired in 2007 from InDyne and was thrilled to work for the Santa Barbara County Probation Department from 2008 – 2013.
Norm was an amazing husband, father, friend, neighbor and more. He was active in coaching baseball and football as well as supporting any and all activities his children were interested in over the years. He instilled a strong work ethic in his children, always leading by example. Norm became a widower in 2004 when Sue passed. Norm continued to be active in the Lompoc community through volunteer work with the police department and becoming a member at the Lompoc Foursquare church. He was fortunate to later meet the amazing Dee Dee Reighley and they were happily married in 2007. Norm and Dee Dee created a welcoming home full of laughter, love and friendship.
Celebration of Life Service to be held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary (123 N. A Street Lompoc) on Thursday November 14th at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Home Health & Hospice Foundation - Providing Financial Assistance to Patients (assistedcares.com) would be greatly appreciated.
