Norman G. Glynn of Lompoc died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the age of 80.
Norman was born March 22, 1931, one of seven children born to William and Hilda Glynn of Santa Maria. After graduating from high school he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Korea during the Korean War. Following his military service he returned to the Santa Maria Valley where he was initially employed as a truck driver and later discovered his passion for farming. During his 50-year career in agriculture he produced many types of vegetables and flowers. As a young man he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Norman is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Tim and Tammy Glynn of Palmdale, his son Ernie Glynn of Nipomo, his daughter Marcella Lartigau of Corona and nine grandchildren, Ernie, Jr., Shelly, Zach, Desiree, Adriana, Madison, Paytyn, Aundrea and A.J.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 14, at 3 pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary followed by private inurnment in the Santa Maria Cemetery.
