Norman John Grimnes, (Stormin Norman) of Lompoc died peacefully after a short battle with cancer at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara surrounded by his family and friends on September 1, 2014 at the age of 44. Norm was born June 24, 1970 in Aberdeen, Washington. He graduated from Lompoc High School and completed his dream of becoming a certified Harley mechanic by graduating from Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona at the top of his class. He worked for Harley Davidson distributors in San Antonio, Texas until his return to Lompoc in 2012. Norm lived his life to the fullest. He was a loyal friend, loved by all who knew him.
Norm is survived by his son, Calvin, of Bend, Oregon; brother, Brian Grimnes (Courtney) of Orcutt; sister, Erika Cheney (Dustin) of Lompoc; sister, Jerri Johnson (Travis) of Houston, Texas; and his parents, Norm and Janice Grimnes of Lompoc. He will be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at the LDS Church, 1312 West Prune Avenue, Lompoc. Memorial donations can be made to any of the many cancer centers of your choice.
