Norman Roulston, Jr. passed away in his home on Sunday May 23rd with his loving wife Patricia by his side. Born in Philadelphia in 1932 he graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree from Drexel Institute of Technology and later completed his Master's degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Florida. Norman retired from the Martin Marietta Corporation after forty years working in the aerospace industry supporting missile launch programs on both coasts and was the recipient of the Silver Snoopy Astronaut's Personal Achievement Award presented to him in 1985 by Astronaut Ellen Shulman. Norman was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, member of Mensa, private pilot, and SCUBA diver.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, his sister Dr Kathleen Montemayor and her husband Ernie; his brother John Roulston and his wife Lynn; his brother in law Charlie Scott; his sister in law Nancy Warner; his son Norman Roulston and his partner Anne Twigg; his son Karl Roulston and his wife Suzanne; his daughter Ingrid Roulston; his son Eric Roulston and his wife Michelle; his eight grandchildren; his great-granddaughter; and his ten nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 28, 2010 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Hsien C Young and Dr. Daryl Burgess of Sansum Clinic for their compassion and care during Norman's last months of care and also wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Marion Hospice for their assistance and compassion in providing care and comfort to Norman during his final days.
