Pat D. Campbell
June 2, 1944 - March 5, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce our beloved Pat Campbell fell asleep in death on March 5, 2025, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Pat was born to Margie and J.C. Campbell in Woodland, California. He was fortunate to have loving grandparents, Leo and Alice Brown, and a kind and caring stepfather, Frank Strahalm.
He graduated in 1963 from Millikan High School in Long Beach, California, where he was vice-president of the Chess Club. He subsequently earned his Associate of Arts degree, teaching credentials (welding), and became a journeyman plumber.
Pat met his future wife, Shirley, in Bakersfield, California. They were married on February 7, 1970, and recently had the privilege of celebrating their 55th anniversary.
Throughout his career as a plumber/pipefitter, Pat worked for various employers in California, Oregon, and Nevada. He also established two plumbing businesses. He eventually moved his family to Lompoc, California, in 1986, where he worked as a plumber for the Lompoc Unified School District until he retired after suffering a serious injury.
As a young man, Pat liked to hunt and fish and later developed a love for riding motorcycles. He enjoyed working out at the gym and going to yard sales and thrift stores in search of bargains. He spent many happy hours listening to all genres of music. He often spoke of the times he attended Reggae concerts, as well as the Rolling Stones concert during their first U.S. tour.
Pat was a wonderful man with a sense of humor that made people feel good just to listen to him tell stories or jokes. He was very generous with his time, energy, and resources to help those in need.
Pat is survived by his wife, Shirley; children: Kerri, Michelle, Patti and Sean, and grandchildren: Deion, Devon, Liana, Dru, River, Ashley, Drake and Marco. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
Pat often shared the Bible's message about God's Kingdom and what it will accomplish, including the promised resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 705 N. Fourth Street, Lompoc, California.
In lieu of flowers, please follow Pat's generous example of giving to and caring for others.
