Patricia Lee Kuester was born to Richard Thomas and Cora Lee Cleary in the state of Kentucky on October 7, 1937. She was raised in Ohio with her younger brother, Thomas Cleary, who preceded her in death this past year.

She pursued and achieved a nursing degree from St. John's School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio where she practiced as a pediatric nurse before meeting her husband, Robert Kuester. Patricia and Robert met on the Amtrak Zephyr train and started talking and true love followed. After writing many letters and visiting each other, they married in Ohio in 1963.

From there, they settled in Lompoc, California to live and raise a family. Patricia and Robert were lifelong Catholics and attended both La Purisima and Queen of Angels churches in Lompoc. Patricia enjoyed singing in the church choir, participating in the Relay for Life and volunteering for her children's school functions. Robert and Patricia were affectionately known as Buster and Sister. They remained in Lompoc until Robert passed away in 2014.

Patricia passed away peacefully in Alta Loma, California on March 18, 2017.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was loving and caring with a stubborn streak that was somehow endearing and charming. She had an amazing sense of humor and was there to listen anytime someone needed her very honest advice. She will be missed more that any words could possible describe.

Patricia is survived by her two sons, Michael and Joseph Kuester, her two daughters, Anne Staight and Susan Kuester, her grandchildren, Austin Matthew, and Amanda Staight, and her sons and daughters-in-law, John Staight, Joy Kuester, Shelly Kuester and Duane Dobbels.
Her love will live on through them all while she rests in eternity with her beloved Buster.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 8th at 11 am, at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel, followed by a reception. Further details to be announced at the service.
