Paul Justin Reinacher, age 63, died Friday, December 30, 2016 peacefully at home after a short illness. Beloved family and friends from near and far visited to say goodbye.

Paul was born in New York, New York on May 11, 1953, to Agnes Crotty and Robert Reinacher. Paul grew up in Long Island in Hicksville, NY and Tampa, FL.

Paul served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1973-1975 and reserve 1975-1979. As a Marine, Paul worked as a Water Safety Instructor and was deployed to Panama. Paul supported the Veterans Treatment Court as a volunteer. Paul and Audrey also supported the local fire academy by hosting cadets.

Paul attended State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburg, and studied engineering. Thereafter, he left his New York roots and ventured to CA. He moved to Santa Barbara in 1985 following his brother and best friend John. Paul began working at Santa Barbara Research Center, now Raytheon, in Goleta, CA. He truly enjoyed his role as Senior Technical Engineer. He met his wife Audrey at work, and the two were married in 1988 and bought a home in Lompoc, CA where they raised their now grown children.

Family and friends describe Paul as "The funniest man who ever lived', and "A man with a heart of gold". He truly lived to make others laugh. He was generous with his kindness and skills. Whether the neighborhood handyman or a pal to a stranger. He was motivated to help others, with an innovative, creative and comedic skill-set. Paul found the light in any situation. He radiated positivity, warmth and care.

Paul loved playing golf with his golf buddies, going to the beach, and gardening and cooking. He made a mean meatball sandwich. Nobody can tell a story or a joke the way he could. He had a true dedication to laughter. He worked so hard no matter what he was doing, and wanted all the best for everyone he loved. We love you so much "Paulie!" Let us all find comfort in the memories. We will always remember you! May your rest in Peace!

Paul is survived by his wife, Audrey Reinacher; son Ross; daughters Laura and Katelyn. Paul leaves his legacy to sister, Katherine (John) Elletson, brothers Robert (Fiona), Mark, Neal and John. He will be forever remembered by his nieces and nephews, John Elletson, goddaughter Emily Connaker, Kara Shanke, Christopher Reinacher, Neal Jr. (deceased), Alexis Reinacher, Annie Reinacher, and great niece Sydney Connaker.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Lompoc followed immediately by a celebration of Life and luncheon in the parish hall.
