Pearl E. Harris, 67, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 3rd.
Pearl was born January 19, 1940, to Alfred and Betsy (Avent) Smartt in Washington, D.C. She moved to Santa Barbara when she was three years old and was raised and graduated high school there. In 1973 she moved to Lompoc. Pearl worked for Raytheon Corporation for a number of years, and was last employed with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department. Pearl was a member of True Vine Ministries in Lompoc. She loved the Lord, her family, cooking, doing crossword puzzles, visiting with people, and helping others.
Pearl is survived by two daughters, Deborah´ Graydon and Alice Guidry, both of Lompoc, and two sons, Tyrone Graydon of Ventura and Daniel Graydon of Silver Spring, Maryland, two sisters, Betsy Barber of Santa Barbara and Rose (Willie) Harris of Sun City, Arizona; six grandchildren, Geisha Winston, Stephanie Elizabeth (Aaron) Carr, Marcus and Andreu Hall, Patricia Graydon, and Andrea Mentzer; eight great-grandchildren, Déshaun Felder, Michael Winston, Alexander, Al'lea, and Nevaeh Murkinson, Aaron Jr., Anthény and Ashayla-Naomi Elizabeth Carr, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Smartt, and her sister, Gwendolyn Burdette.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., at True Vine Ministries located at 533 South Avalon Street, Lompoc, with Pastor Darryl Fort officiating. A private burial was held at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
