PEARLINE CARTER BABCOCK
1920-2008
Pearline Carter Babcock died June 14, 2008. She was 88 years old. Born on December 20, 1920 in Mozelle, Mississippi, Pearline moved to Lompoc in November of 1946 with her husband Dwight.
After 27 year with Civil Service at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Pearline retired and became very involved in the community. She served as a Red Cross volunteer in the Emergency Room at Lompoc Hospital for 23 years. Pearline was also a long time member of the Lompoc NAARF, Lompoc Grange, Lompoc Women's Community Club and the Relief Society.
Pearline was preceded in death by Dwight Babcock, her husband of 50 years, and son Howard. Pearline is survived by her daughters Betty O'Henley, Jeryl Kochera and Terri Babcock, grandchildren Don O'Henley IV and wife Connie, Lynn Knutson and husband Stephen, Wendy Lewis and husband Joe, and Austin Kochera; great-grandchildren include Jacob and Jeremy Lewis, Donnie and Matthew O'Henley and Owen Knutson.
Services are to be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lompoc Ward, 1312 W. Prune Avenue on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing from 1-2 p.m.
