Pedro "Don Pedrito" Hernandez was born in Tepatitlan de Morelos, Mexico on February 22, 1923. He went to heaven on January 27, 2015, just shy of his 92nd birthday.
Pedro became an orphan at the age of seven and was raised by grandparents. He was a self-educated man with an education up to third grade. But his love of knowledge allow him to become a business man as an adult. He was a wiz at math up to his final days, never needing a calculator in hand to solve any problem. He assisted with the first form of public transportation into his home town of Tepatitlan from the big city Guadalajara, Mexico. Pedro loved to play dominos, pool, solve crossword puzzles, card games and tinkering with machines. He loved to tell stories about his adventures between Mexico and the United states. Most of life he spent joking around and making people laugh and was always the life of the party and made friends ever where he went. Pedro was a free and vibrant soul who only wanted to live 20 more years.
Pedro is survived by his beloved wife Hermina, his only daughter Patricia and her husband Daniel of Lompoc, a granddaughter Tania and her husband Edgar and their sons Tristan and Ethan of Lompoc, a grandson Edgar and his spouse Jessica and their son Maddox of Monterey, a granddaughter Lindsay and her spouse Salvador and their children Adan and Alicia of Lompoc, and an adopted granddaughter Teresa and her children Raymond, Marina and Gabriel of Lompoc.
The visitation will be on Friday, February 6, 2015, from 4 to 8 pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 1 pm at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Lompoc.
