Obituary

Percy Cedric Clark Jr. passed away on May 20th at the age of 85.

Percy was born November 10, 1925 to Kathleen & Percy C. Clark, Sr. in Santa Ana, California. He graduated from Tustin High School and then worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for a short while. He attended Orange Coast College and Pomona Men's College and then was drafted into the Army Air Corps. While serving in Germany, the Army Air Corp was split into the Army and US Air Force. Percy's base all became USAF & he went on to serve in England, Spain, Taiwan and Vietnam. While in the service he completed his BA from the overseas branch of the University of Maryland. Percy retired from the Air Force at Vandenberg AFB in 1969, as Chief Master Sergeant in charge of the Transportation Squadron after 25 years of military service.

Percy started the Vandenberg Limousine Service & Lompoc Taxi Service. He joined ITT Federal Electric Corp. and worked in the Logistics Department for 25 years where they called him "Mr. Transportation." He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lompoc. He shared model train enthusiasm along with his loyal friend Bud Owen. He was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association.

Percy is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Margaret Louise, son Michael (Betty) of Arizona, daughters Sharon of Lompoc, and Michele (Tom) of Idaho as well as two-step children Brenda Crane of Lompoc, and Lieutenant Colonel (US Army Reserve) Wayne Bowen (Kendra) of Missouri. He leaves his sister Elinor Bigonger, niece Kathleen Garland, grandsons Aaron (Daniele) and Christopher Day, and step granddaughter Leilani Crane all of Lompoc, granddaughter Jackie Busby (Ryan) of Bakersfield and Lance Corporal (US Marine Corps) Andrew White (Lindsey) deployed to Afghanistan. Step-grandsons Samuel and Nathan Bowen of Missouri plus numerous great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews are all a part of his treasured family.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church 3355 Constellation Road, Lompoc in Vandenberg Village on May 24th at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
