Pete was born to Isabel and Pete Minjarez in Brawley, California. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Brigitte, children Anthony, Debbie, Stephanie, Melissa and Sabrina. He had four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Pete served in the Army for 20 years at which time he retired with many accomplishments and awards. He received his bachelor's degree at UCSB in 1967. He was stationed in Germany where he met the love of his life and was then married. They came back to the United States where he started his dental career by attending UCLA. He then returned to the military and practiced dentistry until he went to UMKC to get board certified in Orthodontics in 1985, at which time he also obtained his master's degree. He continued his military career as an Orthodontist. He retired from the military in 1992. Then he began a private practice in Lompoc, California. Once he retired from private practice, he enjoyed golf and other hobbies for a short time and then went to work at Western Dental. He worked from Northern to Southern California at which time he was diagnosed with cancer. This led to his untimely death. Pete enjoyed spending time with his family, taking trips and cruises to the Mediterranean and Alaska. He enjoyed many sports from tennis, skiing, running marathons and his absolute favorite, golf.
A Private celebration of life will be conducted at his home for family and friends.
