Philip Linet, age 60 of Lompoc, went to be with the Lord November 9, 2011 after his battle with cancer. He was born on November 5, 1951 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Shirley and Murray Linet. He was the youngest of two siblings. On November 16, 1985, he married Leticia Alarcio Linet, who survives him. He graduated from James Monroe High School of the San Fernando Valley in 1969. For sometime, he lived in Arizona by the Colorado River where he learned of his love of water skiing. After moving to Chatsworth, California, he started and successfully owned and operated A-West Body Shop located in Northridge, California. Phil was gifted with the knowledge and skill to fix and repair just about anything. He was an extraordinary handy man and enjoyed his love for deep sea fishing and diving for abalone. Phil, throughout his life, had endured many health issues although he might have been in pain this never altered his drive to keep going and keep busy. He is survived by his mother Shirley Linet of Van Nuys, California; wife Leticia Linet of Lompoc; daughters and sons in law Lennie and Jasper Sardalla of Hayward, California and Christle Linet and Billy Robertson of Lompoc; grandchildren, Christian, Janie Anne, and Caiden Sardalla, and Matthew Nathaniel and Joshua Robertson; and brother Stephen Linet of Canoga Park, California. He was preceded in death by his father, Murray Linet.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with Rev. Msgr. John FItzgerald of Queen of Angels Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be from 1p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
