Obituary

Photini "Tina" Plouffe, loving mother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, October 26, 2012 in Lompoc, California at the age of 73.

Photini was born on July 31, 1939 in Komotini, Greece to Sotiris and Kiratso Arabatjidou. After finishing schooling, she entered a trade school to learn to become a seamstress. In the mid-60s, Photini moved to Athens where she worked as a dressmaker and seamstress for 13 years. While in Athens, she met and married her husband, the late Rolland O. Plouffe. In 1977 they moved to Vandenberg Air Force Base, California where he was stationed and lived before settling to Lompoc. Photini continued her seamstress work in Lompoc and provided childcare for various places. She was involved with the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society and Chapter SQ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Her husband, Rolland, and parents, Sotiris and Kiratso, preceded her in death. Photini is survived by her beloved and devoted children Helen Plouffe of Lompoc and Christopher Plouffe of San Diego, California, her sister Konstandinia Arabatjidou of Komotini, Greece as well as an uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends in the US and Greece. She will be remembered, respected, and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Whether by a smile, a hug, hospitality or a kind word, she would always give of herself to others in the most unselfish and uplifting ways.

The Trisagion will be held on Thursday November 1st at 6:00pm at Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 1205 San Antonio Creek Road, Santa Barbara, California 93111 (805) 683-4492 www.saintbarbara.net. The funeral service will be on Friday November 2nd at 11:00AM at the church. A Makaria Reception will take place after the service in the church hall. Graveside burial will take place the same day at 3:00pm at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery, 600 South C Street, Lompoc 93436. A 40-day Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 2nd at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church. Arrangements are under Starbuck-Lind Mortuary www.starbucklind.com
