Services for Queenie A. Bailey, 78, of Lompoc, will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with Rev. Ronald Wiley of Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Queenie was born February 26, 1929 in Norwich, England to Burtram and Ada Nixon Poll. She was a world traveler with her husband and family during his service with the U.S. Air Force. Queenie worked for years with Tri-County Regional Center and independently in health care services for developmentally disabled adults. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, knitting, and spending time with her family.
She died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Lompoc Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Petty of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Paula Bailey of Lompoc; son, John Bailey of Lompoc; sisters, June Poll and Pearl Winston, both of England; brothers, Ernie and Jack Poll of England; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Bailey.
Visitation hours will be one hour prior to service time at the mortuary.
