Aiken, SC - A celebration of life service for Mrs. Rachael THomas, age 82, will be held 3:00pm Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will follow 11:00am Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Lompoc Cemetery, Lompoc, California. Mrs. Thomas entered into rest on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 after a two-year battle with aplasitc anemia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Cipriano Rodriguez and the late Mrs. Amelia Veldez Rodriguez. She was the loving wife to her husband of 35 years Mr. Bobby Thomas. Mrs. Thomas was born in Lompoc, CA and later made Aiken, SC her home for the past year. Rachael was a wonderful waitress at both Sambos and HI's Restaurant for several years and met her sweetheart Bobby while waitressing. For 5 years, she owned and operated her own beauty salon, Rachael's Beauty Salon and was a licensed cosmetologist for over 40 years in California. Mrs. Thomas was also a med nurse and aide for 20 years at the Lodge of Lompoc, nursing home. She had a beautiful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Some of her hobbies included sewing, cooking, gardening, working on puzzles, antique shopping at Ten Penny's daily adventures with her daughter Elizabeth, and attending her great granddaughter's sport and school events. She also enjoyed getting her hair, makeup, and nails done, especially by her granddaughter, Rachelle, who is named after her. Mrs. Thomas will be missed greatly by her famiy and friends. Survivors include: one daughter, Elizabeth Velasquez, Aiken, SC; her grandchildren, Jarrod (Carly) Velasquez, Rachelle (James) Morales, Jacob Velasquez; great grandchildren, Ava Bryan Velasquez, Daisy Mae Martinez, Cataleya Elizabeth Morales, Isaac Morales, and Annalisa Morales; brothers, Raymond Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, Remedio Rodriguez, Danny Carrillo; and sisters, Edwina Hill, Ana Dominguez, and Irene Muschler; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog and companion Roxy Thomas. She was preceded in death by her son, Roy Velasquez III; her first husband of 15 years, Mr. Roy Velasquez, Jr.; her brothers, Tony Rodriguez and Ruben Rodriguez; and her sisters, Polly Ornelas, Sally De Maria, and Connie Montano. Rachel Thoams was a strong and resilient women who never stopped fighting her health battle. She is no longer sick and in pain, she is free and at peace in the arms of Jesus.
