Ralph Raymond Smith passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday evening April 27, 2014.  Ralph was born January 23, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ralph and Elizabeth Smith.  Ralph's career as an electronics technician began at China Lake NOTS in 1954 and concluded at Pt. Magu NAWCWD in 1990 after 37 years of dedicated government service.  Ralph is survived by his wife of 25 years Emily, his sister Irene, and his beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Eldest son Glen (daughters Caroline and Lorraine) of Burbank, CA., his son Martin of Las Vegas, Nevada, his son David (Son Julian) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Daughter Amanda (Husband Ben , children Elizabeth and Spencer) of Austin, Texas, stepchildren Gloria (Husband Mike, daughters Vanessa, Alyssa, Tedi and Madilyn) of Lompoc, Carmen and John (sons Ruben and Nathan) of Fair Oaks, CA., Daughter-in-law Tami Vargas (children Ryan and Allison) of Lompoc, CA.  Ralph is preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother Allan Smith, his sister Gail, and his stepson Arthur Vargas Jr.  Ralph was a loving and thoughtful man and touched so many lives with his generosity.  He will be forever missed by all of us who loved him.  Services will be held at La Purisima Catholic Church on Saturday May 3 ^rd at 10:00 am with inurnment to follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
