RANDALL JAMES STEWART
1949-2008

Randall James Stewart, son of Captain Marlar and Lela Stewart of Lompoc, CA, quietly passed away at home on Thursday, June 19, 2008 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He is survived by his brother, Lieutenant Commander Richard (Gail) Stewart of Suffolk, VA, his son Nicklas (Heather) Stewart, his daughter Courtney (David) Stewart Drake, and his granddaughter Lily Ann Stewart, all of Palestine, TX. Randall was the grandson of the late Herman and Maude Stewart of San Miguel and Jewell and Rena Nicklas of Paso Robles, CA.

Randall was born on August 25, 1949 in Fort Ord, CA. He attended many schools growing up while his father served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from high school in Kingsville, TX where he went on to Texas A & I University. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity where he made many life-long, close friends. He worked for many years for Kitty Petroleum in Texas and eventually moved to Fresno where he returned to school to earn his teaching certificate at Fresno State University. He taught history in the Fresno School District as his final career.

Randall loved golf and the highlight of those days was when he and his father won the Thomas Macke Annual Tournament held at the Village Country Club in Lompoc.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the San Miguel Community Center, 256 13th St. in San Miguel.
