Raymond William Koch, son of Henry and Caroline Koch, died on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at age 90.
He was born in Owensville, Missouri on November 12, 1917. He lived a hearty farm life in Missouri with his nine brothers and sisters before moving to Los Angeles in 1938. He worked as a fireman and retired as an engineer for Santa Fe Railroad over a 48 year career. Ray developed a retirement business/hobby making draft horse harness and western style saddles. His work was a favorite at Western auctions with customers ranging from California to Canada.
He is survived by sisters Estella Ash, Bernice Morton, Eunice Limberg; and brother Telfair "Dick" Koch; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his brothers Calvin, Virgil and Clifford; and sisters Gertrude Miller and Dorothy McGregor.
Funeral services will be at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills on Friday, November 23rd at 9:30 a.m. at Church of the Hills.
