Raymond Lee Leslie, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Lompoc, CA after a courageous battle with cancer.
Raymond was born on August 18, 1942, in San Diego, California, to Ralph D. Leslie and Marguerite T. (George) Leslie. He built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family and community.
A respected union pipefitter and business owner, Raymond took great pride in his work and the legacy he built through his trade. Beyond his career, he was actively involved in his community, including his participation with the Lompoc Elks and the Vandenberg Village Lions, where he formed many lasting friendships.
On May 1, 1981, Raymond married the love of his life, Kendal P. Gunn. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Raymond is survived by his devoted wife, Kendal Leslie; his daughters, Renée (Lee) Forbes and Janet Wallace; his sons, Keith Leslie and Craig McCracken; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Raymond’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
In honor of Raymond, donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Assisted Hospice of Santa Barbara.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11 am at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
