Rebecca Theresa DeBoer (Gardner), 54, from Lompoc, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, after a brief illness at home surrounded by those who loved her. She was born January 31, 1959, in Riverside, California, the daughter of Harold and Helen Gardner.

Rebecca was a devoted mother, grandmother and companion. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. They were her everything. She loved to cook, shop, collect things, and boy, did she love to hear the daily gossip.

She is survived by two of her best friends and longtime companions John Erickson and John Schmidt. She will be sadly missed and is survived by her loving family; daughter Jillian Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and son Nicholas DeBoer of Lompoc, sisters Trudy Muus of Lompoc, Jacque Greenwood, brother, Joe Gardner of Bull City, Arizona, nieces Michelle Mendibles of Lompoc, and Sara Gardner of Taft, California and all other extended family who loved and she loved so dearly. She will especially be missed by her three grandchildren Kali, Easton and Kameron. She is preceded in death by her father Harold, mother Helen and nephew Jason Gardner.

The Visitation will be Sunday, March 24, from 3-7pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with the evening vigil at 6pm. Father Tom Cook will celebrate the mass of Christian burial on Monday, March 25, at 10am at La Purisima Catholic Church followed by interment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
