Rebecca Bueno Ochoa, 87, of Lompoc passed away peacefully on April 24, 2016 at her home
surrounded by her family. Rebecca was born on January 24, 1929 to Jose and Josefa Bueno of Mexico. She married her life-long friend and companion John E. Ochoa in 1948. They settled in Lompoc where she became a homemaker and mother of six children. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She also loved bingo, cooking, gardening, knitting and watching her novelas. Rebecca was an active member of the Mexican Social Organization for many years.
Rebecca is survived by her children Rebecca (Ramon) Chavez, Raul (Valerie) Ochoa, John Ochoa, Ralph Ochoa, Rosie (Paulino) Romero, son-in-law Tony Vickery, 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren all of Lompoc and sister Concha Barrgan of Van Nuys, CA.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years John E. Ochoa, daughter Sue Vickery, grandson Richie Chavez, sister Cuca Terrones, sister Otilia Sanchez and brother Pedro Bueno.
The Ochoa Family would like to thank Dr. Bailey and Rebecca from hospice for taking care of our loving mother. "Our Angel has finally gotten her wings".'
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27 from 5-7 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with a Rosary following at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 28 at 10 am at La Purisima Catholic Church with internment at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery following mass.
