Richard Campbell was born July 13, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Alfred and Alice Campbell. He was the eldest of seven children.
He attended Imlay City High School in Imlay City, Michigan and entered the United States Air Force in 1954. Richard faithfully served his country for 26 years, retiring in 1980.
He was united in marriage to the former Juanita Forbes on November 18, 1978.
Richard loved fishing and shared this passion with his brothers, son, grandchildren, nephews, and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Juanita F. Campbell, his children Deloras Sullivan of Canoga Park, Rickki Fuggs (Kevin) and Ruth Moss (Greg) both of Detroit, Michigan, Richard Campbell (Carolyn) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Yolanda Campbell of Lompoc, his brother Alfred Campbell (Flo) of Dallas, Texas, his sisters Angeline Carter, Joyce Williams, and Aurelia Graham all of Los Angeles, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The Vandenberg Air Force Base Honor Guard will render military honors. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment.
