Husband, Father and Patriot

Richard James Davis, 86, of Lompoc, California, died in peace while surrounded by his family on Fathers Day June 17, 2018 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, of pneumonia.  He was born on November 20, 1934 to Dorothy Stoddard and Lowell Edwin Davis in Billings, Montana.  He joined the Air Force in 1951, and was eventually transferred to Fukuoka, Japan in 1954, where he married Nobu Kimura Davis on February 1, 1956.  He honorably served 20 years each for both the Air Force and Civil Service in Education Services.  As Nobu passed away in 2011, he is survived by his daughter Margaret, son-in-law Adolfo, grandchildren Alexander and Nicholas, and his beloved dogs Hanako and Queeny.  Memorial services with military honors will be held 11:00 am Saturday June 30, 2018 at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc.
