Obituary

Loving husband, Daddy and Grandpa Richard W. DeWeil of Lompoc passed away at Lompoc Hospital on Monday, May 28, 2007 at the age of 82.

Richard was born in Riverdale, New Jersey. As a member of the US Army in South Korea he met and married Frances Ho in 1963.

After his discharge from military service Richard became a civil servant and worked as a frequency manager until his first retirement in 1979. He returned to civil service and was stationed in Naples, Italy. Upon his retirement in 1987 he settled in Lompoc.

Richard Loved to travel and in his retirement he discovered golf. He could be found at the Vandenberg Air Force Base Golf Course several times a week. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cribbage with his granddaughter.

His wife, Frances DeWeil of Lompoc, daughter, Grace and granddaughter Jade both of Honolulu, Hawaii, and his sister, Edna survive him.

In honor of his request, no services will be held. Cremation will be followed by interment in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, also known as the Punchbowl. Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
