Obituary

Richard M. "Mike" Landon

Born July 17, 1955, in San Bernadino to Hazel and Richard Landon, Mike moved to Lompoc in 1964 and attended Cabrillo High School. He pursued higher education at Allan Hancock for welding and took his first job at Civil Engineering Services in HVAC.  He changed job and careers through the years but ultimately ended up as the Wastewater Treatment Supervisor for the City of Lompoc where he retired from in 2017.

Mike loved the ocean and exploring the bottom while scuba diving, he tinkered on model trains of all sizes and would often help fellow train enthusiasts with layouts and repairs, he loved Harley Davidson bikes and was in the middle of re-constructing a soft tail, he was a patriot and served his country in the Navy reserves and eventually being activated to serve in the Iraq Gulf War in 2003, but most of all, he loved his family, friends and his cats.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Rowena Landon, daughter, Erika Culwell (Robert Culwell), son, Cory Landon (Stacey Landon) and four grandchildren (Ethan, Lukas, Olivia & Lynley), and kitties Lunna and Comet.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, loyalty, and honor. There will be a private service for friends and family Wednesday 23, 2023 at 11am at Lompoc Cemetery with a reception to follow.
