Services for Richard "Dick" Overman, 85 of Lompoc, will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Robert Robison of the North Avenue Baptist Church officiating.

Mr. Overman was born March 25, 1923 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Howard and Esther Eubank Overman. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the European Theater. Dick worked as a communication engineer for various companies for over 42 years, and retired at Vandenberg from Quintron in 1990. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and enjoyed golf, bowling, local Little League Baseball, and walking his favorite dog, Andy.

He died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the Convalescent Care Center.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife of 60 years, Charlotte "Mick" Overman; daughters, Carol Overman of Belgrade, Maine and Elaine (Tony) Valla of Lompoc; sons, Rick (Nancy) Overman and Dennis Overman, both of Lompoc, Gary (Linda) Overman of Hollister, and Brian (Lori) Overman of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; brother, James Overman of Richardson, Texas; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
