Rita, age 86, of Lompoc passed away Sunday evening, leaving a hole in our hearts.

She was born into a large family in Vermont where she attended Mt St Joseph Academy.  She moved to California, married, had two children, and divorced.  She worked for Lockheed Martin for over 20 years until she retired after becoming a cancer survivor.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and dancing, and loved Tom Selleck, chocolate, and talking.  She had many interesting stories of her life, but now so many details are lost due to dementia that came on so quickly.  She also struggled with several other health issues.  Now she has found peace in God's loving arms.

Rita was preceded in death by her father, mother, and all of her siblings.  She is survived by her two children, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces, and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 12:00 pm
