Robert C. Jackson, age 59, of Lompoc, California passed away on May 26, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Robert was born on January 10, 1953, in Logan, West Virginia to Lucy Friend and Robert L. Jackson.
Robert, also known as Bob, was a very charitable man. He handmade wooden toys for children at the Mesa Oaks ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bob worked as a construction worker in carpentry, masonry and painting. Bob was a very good man and will always be loved and missed.
He is survived by his wife Karen Jackson of 38 years, daughter Janis Jackson of Lompoc and son Robert Jr. of Lompoc, grandchildren Kieaira, Kieonna and Gage Cooksey of Lompoc. He is also survived by his sisters Etta Roberts, Blanche Williams, Sally Jones and Sharon Boney all from Mississippi, his brothers James Jackson of Louisiana, Jesse Pannell of Illinois and Clifford Johnson of Santa Barbara as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
"Robert, we love you and miss you but our family finds peace in knowing you are pain-free and are with your parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that have passed before you."
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 18, 2012, at 12 noon in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
The Jackson and Cooksey family would like to express their gratitude and thankfulness to Dr. Steven Reichil, Dr. Donna Walker, Lompoc Valley Medical Center, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, the nurses, Assisted Hospice, Kelly and Angel from Starbuck-Lind Mortuary and all the people Bob met and made friends with at chemotherapy.
Flowers may be sent to the pavilion at Lompoc Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Assisted Hospice. Thank you all and may God bless.
