Robert Edward King, 54, of Lompoc passed away at his home on Friday, November 18, 2011. Robert was born to Oscar and Ola King on May 27, 1957 in Lompoc. He attended South Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield, California.

Robert was a member of the Generations United, formerly known as Riverview Church of God. He served on the Board of Directors at the Rainbow Plaza and was one of their longest residents for almost 30 years. He was an avid collector of horses and could be often seen in one of his many cowboy hats. He loved to tinker with electronics, wood working and tools. His many talents included making stain glass windows and photography.

Robert is survived his siblings; Wanda Nell Murphey, Ruby Dean Rowan, Roy Lee King, Clarence Henry King, and Ola Mae King Cukr, as well as numerous nieces and nephew. Preceding Robert in death was his parents, and brothers, Oscar C. King Jr. and Jimmy Ray King.

A visitation will be held at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 4 to 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the Generations United Church (formerly known as Riverview Church of God) on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 1pm, followed by internment at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
