Robert Daniel Leck
(1923-2014)
Robert "Bob" Leck, 90, passed away peacefully in his home on February 8, 2014, surrounded by his wife, Shirley, and their nine children—Michael (Mary Ann), Nancy (Steve), Mary (Stan), Daniel (Maureen), Catherine (Kirk), Peggy (James), Sarah, Leslie (William), and Ralph (Ann).
Born in Chicago to Arthur and Margaret Leck, Bob met his wife of 65 years at North Dakota State University after service in World War II. The family lived in Oregon before Bob joined the Lompoc Unified School District in 1960 as a teacher and a football coach. Five years later, he became an administrator until his retirement.
In addition to his wife and children, Bob is survived by 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A private inurnment for the family will be followed by a celebration of Bob's life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lompoc School District's athletic program.
