Robert Elfonso Lee, 80, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010, in Lompoc. He is survived by sisters Leona Andrews of Amarillo, Texas, Bonnie Altic of Ridgecrest, California, one brother William Lee of Las Vegas, Nevada, several nieces and nephews and long time companion Jenny Cadis.
Robert was born in Lefors, Texas on June 7, 1930, to Elcana F. Lee and Ada S. Hatchett Lee. He was the seventh of ten children. He is preceded in death by brothers Clark Lee and Donald Lee, sisters Helen Sapp, Decia Poe, Alice Gordon and Eula Joslin.
Robert served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1954 after which he worked in civil service for 30 years at Vandenberg AFB then retired in 1984. Robert was a talented photographer and videographer. He enjoyed researching topics of history, helping friends, traveling, camping, and spending time with his beloved companion Jenny and their dog Shelly. Robert was very caring and attentive to those around him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Robert will be cremated and his ashes interred at the Bakersfield National Cemetery near Arvin, California. No funeral services are planned. Starbuck-Lind Mortuary will handle the arrangements.
