A memorial service and remembrance for Robert T. "Bob" O'Meara, 57, of Santa Maria, will be Thursday, November 16 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date in Cleveland, Ohio.

Bob was born November 16, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to Walter and Marie Meidenbauer O'Meara.

He moved to Santa Maria in 2005 from Morgan Hill and worked for Call Henry, Inc. as manager for maintenance and operations at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Bob had worked in this industry for 25 years, and was looking toward his retirement at the end of this year. He enjoyed spending his free time golfing, traveling the world, and driving around enjoying the scenery.

He died unexpectedly in Lompoc on Monday, November 13, 2006.

Survivors include his wife, Violet "Coco" O'Meara of Santa Maria; father, Walter O'Meara of Clearwater, Florida; son, Shawn O'Meara and daughter, Brandi O'Meara, both of Lakewood, Ohio; sisters, Kathy O'Meara of Port Orange, Florida and Margaret Sweigert of Ravenna Township, Ohio; brothers, Mike O'Meara and John, both of Worthington, Ohio, Gary of Cleveland, Doug of Dover, Ohio, Tom of Lakewood, Ed of Ocklawaha, Florida, Pat of Rootstown, Ohio and Brian of Iowa City, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.
