Robert R. Kuester, AKA "Buster" of Lompoc passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014. He was 78 years old. Robert was born on July 19, 1936 to Kristorick and Amanda Kuester in West Point, Nebraska. He attended West Point High School. He enlisted in the Navy in November, 1959 and served until July, 1963. He married Patricia "Pat" Kuester in 1963 and they moved to Lompoc. Robert worked for ITT at Vandenberg AFB for 35 years where he retired as an Electronic Engineer.

Robert was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He was also a member of VFW and participated with the Boy Scouts and the Relay for Life. His hobbies included fishing, birds, crossword puzzles and computers.

Robert is survived by his wife Patricia; sons Mike (Joy) Kuester Simi Valley, CA, Joe (Shelly) Kuester Ventura, CA; daughters Anne (John) Staight, Etiwanda, CA, Susan Kuester (Duane Dobbels) Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren Austin, Matthew and Amanda Staight and Aaron, Adam and Ashley Kuester. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Services will be Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel, 123 North A Street, in Lompoc.
