ROBERT (BOB) SVENDSEN
1941-2007
Peacefully taken by our LORD Christmas Eve, December 24, 2007. Bob was born in San Diego May 27, 1941. He began to sing at an early age. At five years old, he regularly used to sing and entertain market customers while standing on the grocery store counter where his mother Lucille worked as a cashier. Bob moved with his parents Chuck and Lucille Svendsen to Lompoc in 1960. He was employed at several local stores and at Vandenberg Air Force Base for years. Bob's family are members of First Baptist Church of Lompoc, where Bob became a member of the choir in 1975. Besides loving to sing with the choir, he began doing maintenance and cleaning. He also served in the church's community kitchen for decades. Now Bob has joined his parents with the Lord in all His glory and splendor.
Bob is survived by his brother Charles (Ted), nephew Robert, niece Kelly, great nephews Jared and Colin, and great nieces Angela and Juliana, all of San Diego and Orange County.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Lompoc at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Lompoc, 220 West Cypress, Lompoc, California. Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
