Robert John Wenta

December 5, 1935 - July 27, 2025

Robert Wenta (Bob) passed away Sunday July 27, 2025, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

He was a resident of Lompoc for 25 years.  He was an avid golfer.  He loved his family and loved his dogs.  He and Gina rescued over 25 dogs through fostering and adoption while in Lompoc.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gina, his sister Karen Follis, daughters Tracey Loftus and husband John, Rita Wood, Helen Williams and husband Kevin, Donna Alberts and husband Nelson, Terri Hewitt, son Will Jensen and wife Sandi, nephews James Follis and wife Stephanie, nephew Brian Follis, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Sam.  He was predeceased by his son Theodore (Ted) and both parents John and Jean Wenta.

Bob was a generous soul, giving time and money to many local and national charities.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation to Lompoc Animal Shelter or VIVA Cat Rescue, in his honor.

A celebration of life will be held Friday August 8,2025 at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, at 2pm.
