Robert Carl Wollitz of Bakersfield, California passed away on April 20, 2021, at Comprehensive Care Center in Lompoc, California. He was born May 17, 1936, to Louis Carl Wollitz and Marguerite (Marlow) Wollitz, in Chokio, Minnesota.

In 1954, Robert Wollitz left home to join the Navy. After his four-year term was complete, Robert went back home to attend the Minnesota School of Business. In 1962, Robert Wollitz settled in Bakersfield, California where he met and married his beautiful wife Margaret (Garcia) Wollitz. Together they raised five children and sadly he lost Margaret to breast cancer in 1982. He remarried Linda (Bloxom) Wollitz and helped raise her two children Kristen and Johnathan until they divorced in 2005. Robert was a hard worker who spent many years as a mechanic and later as a handyman. Throughout his life, Robert's three favorite activities were fishing, spending time with family, and drinking a nice cold beer.

He is survived by his four children, Deborah Ann Clayton (Charles), Son-in-law Ronald Kristin Baker, Margarita Roberta Chagoya (Chris), Robert Paul Wollitz (Mimi), and Matthew Flavio Wollitz (Lisa).  He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and numerous nieces and nephews who called him "Uncle Bob".

Robert Wollitz was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters; Marlene (Stanton), Beverly (Herntenstein), Delores (Butler), daughter Rachel Denise Baker and his wife of 17 years, Margaret Wollitz.

Arrangements being made by Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc, California. Private military services will be held at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin. At Robert's request, a small intimate service will be held for immediate family only.
