Roberta Luna passed away on August 6, 2011 at Lompoc Valley Community Hospital. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents Art and Barbara Beaver.
Roberta was born on April 22, 1946 in Inglewood, California. She moved to Lompoc when she was five years old. Her family's roots in Lompoc go back six generations which includes her grandfather's being born at the old La Purisima Mission in 1789.
Roberta is survived by one daughter, Robbie Luna-Alarcon; four grandsons, Jordan Mindoro, Bryce Mindoro, Diego Mindoro and Joseph Luna-Alarcon; one son, Kenny Windsor; and one sister Marie Applegarth of Delaware.
Roberta grew up in Lompoc where she attended school from kindergarten through high school. While attending school, she made numerous life-long friends.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and daughter. She loved her family like no other! After taking care of her aged parents, she pursued a career in home health care and started Lompoc's first in-home-health-care business called House Calls in 1994.
She had been a baptized Jehovah's Witness for the past 50 years and was associated with the Lompoc Parkside Congregation.
Services will be held Saturday, August 13th at 1 p.m. at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
