ROBIN R. GATZ
1957-2008

Robin Renee Gatz, age 51 of Lompoc, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 16, 1957 in Fresno, California to George and Betty Rodgers, Robin grew up in Fresno and graduated from McLane High School.

Robin worked for the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's office as a legal secretary for the last seven years. During the last five years, she bravely fought cancer and was a stage four cancer survivor during this time. Robin's family would like to extend a special thank you to the DA's office for all of their love, patience, and support throughout Robin's illness.

Before going to work for the DA's office, Robin was involved with special education while living in Montana, and the kids loved her. She had a special love for children and animals. She also loved her dogs, Rving, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband Gerard Gatz of Lompoc, father George Donald Rodgers of San Luis Obispo, sister and brother-in-law Betty Jean and Ron Hurst of Lompoc, brother and sister-in-law George Ronald and Ruth Ann Rodgers of Clovis, father-in-law Vince Gatz of Reedley, mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law Marianne and James Key, brother-in-law Tom Gatz and his wife Tina of Lompoc, brother-in-law Dan Gatz and his wife Kathy of Fresno, brother-in-law Don Gatz and his wife Dawn of Reedley, as well as many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Maggie and Molly. She was preceded in death by her mother Betty (Brown) Rodgers.

A memorial service will take place Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel. Private burial at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine will take place at a later date.
